This Privacy Policy explains how GKnect Digital (“GKnect”, “we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, and protects personal information when you visit gknectdigital.co.za, enquire about our services, become a client, or interact with applications and integrations we operate (including authorised access to advertising and analytics platforms on behalf of clients).

GKnect Digital is a South African digital marketing agency. We process personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA). Use of our website and services is also governed by our Terms of Service.

2. Information we collect

We collect personal information in the following ways:

  • Website visitors: IP address, browser type, device, pages viewed, referring source, and interactions collected via Google Analytics 4 and similar tools.
  • Enquiries and contact forms: name, email address, phone number, company, and any details you choose to provide.
  • Clients: business contact details, billing information, and information required to deliver contracted services.
  • Authorised platform access: when clients grant us access to their advertising or analytics platforms (e.g. Google Ads, Meta Ads Manager, LinkedIn Campaign Manager, Google Analytics), we access account, campaign, reporting, and conversion data solely to deliver agreed services.

  • Respond to enquiries and provide quotes or proposals.
  • Deliver and manage agreed services, including campaign management, reporting, SEO, and web development.
  • Process payments and maintain accounting records.
  • Improve our website, services, and client communications.
  • Comply with legal, regulatory, and contractual obligations.

We rely on one or more of the following lawful bases:

  • Performance of a contract with you or your organisation.
  • Your consent (e.g. when you submit a contact form or subscribe).

5. Third-party services and integrations

We use trusted third-party providers to operate our business. These providers process personal information only on our instructions and under appropriate agreements. They include:

  • Hosting and infrastructure: our website host and supporting cloud services.
  • Analytics: Google Analytics 4.
  • Advertising platforms: Google Ads, Meta (Facebook/Instagram) Ads, LinkedIn Ads, Microsoft Ads — accessed under client authorisation to manage campaigns.
  • Productivity and communication: Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, and similar tools.
  • Payments and accounting: standard South African banking and accounting providers.

When we authenticate to client platforms via OAuth (for example the Meta Marketing API, LinkedIn Marketing API, or Google Analytics), the access tokens we obtain are stored securely and used only to perform services agreed with the client. We do not sell or share this data with third parties for marketing purposes.

6. Cookies

Our website uses a small number of cookies for essential functionality and analytics. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling them may affect site functionality.

7. Information sharing

We do not sell personal information. We share information only with:

  • Service providers and processors necessary to deliver our services (see Section 5).
  • Regulators, law enforcement, or other parties where required by law.
  • Successors in the event of a business sale or restructure, subject to equivalent protections.

8. Information transfers outside South Africa

Some of our service providers operate outside South Africa. Where personal information is transferred across borders, we ensure that the recipient is bound by laws, binding corporate rules, or contractual obligations providing protection substantially similar to POPIA.

We retain personal information only for as long as necessary for the purposes set out in this Policy, to comply with legal and tax obligations, and to resolve disputes. Inactive enquiry data is typically removed within 24 months.

We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against loss, unauthorised access, and disclosure. These include access controls, encrypted credential storage, secure connections, and the principle of least privilege.

11. Your rights and data deletion

Subject to POPIA, you have the right to:

  • Request access to the personal information we hold about you.
  • Request correction or deletion of inaccurate or outdated information.
  • Object to processing in certain circumstances.
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
  • Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa) at inforegulator.org.za.

How to request deletion of your data. To have the personal information we hold about you deleted, email [email protected] with the subject line “Data Deletion Request” and include the email address, account, or platform the request relates to. We will acknowledge your request within 5 business days and complete the deletion within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain certain records (for example tax and accounting records). Where we hold data obtained through a client’s advertising platform under that client’s authorisation — including data accessed via the Meta Marketing API — we will delete our copy of that data and revoke the associated access token on request.

12. Children

Our services are intended for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18.

13. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a revised “Last updated” date.
